I haven't used this item; ideally you could do with several so you avoid the inconvenience of crashes.

Sorry i meant do i start it off with cultered plankton or is there another way of growing it

Hi Daz

Starting off with cultured plankton is fine purchased from a shop, online, or from your local club/UR member; just make sure it's live and not a harvested concentrated product with preservatives intended for long term storage.
