Hello

Please can you help. I was going to buy the Profilux II but am now wondering if I should wait a few weeks for the III.

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I haven't really done my comparison homework but basically your average starter kit with 6 plugbar, ph and temp probes etc is roughly £400

I have looked at the same starter pack on your site for the Profilux III and it's £600. Like I said I haven't really looked into the III like I have the II but why is it £200 more for the same pack? Is there really £200 worth of new features pre programmed into the unit?

Also need to buy a 3 pump doser, are these changing as well?

Sorry if it's a stupid question:o

Thanks

Allan

Hi Allan,

There is lots of information on what has changed in the following threads:
http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=327723
and
http://www.reefbuilders.com/2009/09/23/ghl-profilux-iii-3-aquarium-controller-released/

I believe the difference is well worth it, but only you can judge that for yourself. What you will find is until the release it is actually cheaper to buy a PII and pre-order the upgrade which then makes your unit identical to a PIII. This is so that anyone buying now doesn't miss out, or have to wait until the launch.

Dosing pumps will eventually change so that they too can be run on the PAB bus system, but that won't be until much later in next year. I'm not aware at this time that it will make them anymore functional, as they do everything already, the only requests we have had will be easily covered by software changes in the PIII software revisions.
