I like them all, but the second one caught my eye the most. Beautifully caught rainbow.
Having tried it a number of times I think landscape photography with impact is bloody difficult - the picture in my head never turned into what what was captured by the camera. :)
Are all of these full frame?
In the first image I'd lose half of the sky - at the very least would crop out the very bright spot top edge.
In the second pic it almost looks as though it was taken through a car window. The TLH corner is very dark - suggesting vignetting but this isn't reflected in the other corners - there seems to be a dark band all along the RHS edge. The lower edge patch of green leading into the bracken is a little distracting. I think it would work much better as a panoramic with most of the foreground and most of the sky cut out - the main focus being the copse of trees in the middle. Having tried this crop I think it definitely does.
"The rainbow" also seems to show a dark band all along the RHS edge and the vignetted corners detract from the image for me. I'd be inclined to lose 2/3rds of the water (particularly the rock sitting on the LHS edge) and crop out the vignetted dark areas.
"Aira beck" is lovely. However, I'd crop out the sky intruding on the top edge to give it a more intimate feel, and although there are no reflections to gauge it by, to me it has a feel that a CW rotation of 1-2 degrees is needed. I'd also lose a bit of the foreground rock.
When all's said and done though, it is as always subjective, and they're all nice pics as they are anyway. ;)

Nice feedback John thanks for looking at the pics so critically!, I actually hadn't even looked at them that critically, i just took them without crop and posted them. I appreciate what you are saying about the crops and the vignetting. I was just out playing with the 5D tho, and it was peeing down yesterday, so anything i could get without getting too wet made me happy :)
are they with the 5d?
yeah shot with the 5D mk II mate with a Sigma 24 - 70mm
Beautiful shots Paul.. the first one and the rainbow one.. what's the p-p you've applied?
Hi
Those two shots were f/2.8 + 3 bracketed shots, tone mapped in photomatrix, then my standard pp (http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=339945)appliction
really nice shots there, I think the trees shot does it for me, thanks for sharing with us, I am inspired to go and try my own
Cheers, my thought process went like this ...
[driving] "hmmm, the colours around 'ere are nice this time of year" [still driving] "there's a car up my arse, i would reay like to have a better look at the colours" [park in a layby and get out of car] "hmm the colours look even better out the car" [grabs camera, hops over a stone wall into a field] "bloomin' 'eck, those trees are nice colours!" [click ..... click .... click ... back to car]
the perfect antidote to road rage Sir :D
