This is a great time of year now.. it's getting dark early enough to combine some rush hour night shots on the way home..

Brilliant photo, you've used the light (or is it dark?) really well.

Great shot , looks a bit dodgy down there. I can just imagine the next frame, camera tipping back blurring the sky whist you can just make out the hooded youth yanking at the tripod.

Thanks everyone..

RB.. it's not as rough an area as it looks.. and that textured wall leding down the side of the dual carriageway is looking very tempting for some strobist locaton work..

Paul, I think it's some high mounted running lights on an artic box trailer.. it was this detail that made this image stand out from the two others I took.

Give it a go Bill.. it's relatively straightforward, there's a little discussion about the settings I used in the comments on the photopage.

I find myself going back to this client quite a bit recently.. managed to take another few snaps from this spot this evening, using some longer exposures (30 seconds) to really burn in the traffic trails..

This sort of traffic trail night photography is really quite straightforward, and I encourage you to give it a go if you can find a safe vantage point. Best to wear high vis, even when behind a protective barrier.

Very nice Alastair. the lighting and exposure is super.

You do worry me though, clients, dark alleys, exposures...... lmao.
