Pinch punch... it's the first Tank of the Month!
Throughout 2009 you were treated to some stunning tanks and this year will be no different! First off for 2010 we've got an eco-system to share with you. It's a stunningly simple system that is thriving and the growth on the corals is just amazing. The tank is reaping the benefits of it's regular low maintenance routine. A little and often is definitely the way to go!
So....without any further hesitation it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the first in this years UltimateReef.com Tank of the Month series....
Congratulations Neil on being UltimateReefs January 2010 Tank of the Month.

 for simplicity.
Excellent tank and write up.
Just one question, Do your FireFish dig up the sandbed at all?
I am thinking of having a pair, but after the sand-storm experience of my evil Allen Damsels, I need to be very careful.
:thanks:

:thanks: the complements !! I have never had any problems with the firefish digging in the sand, they have a favorite hole in the rocks and then come out when there is food about. They used to be out all the time, but the chromis are a bit to boisterous now.
 for simplicity.

Looks like a very well balanced system, both visually and in maturity. I like the high corals at the back of the scape.
very nice setup, you should be very proud of it. the sps is fantastic and I am very jealous!
nice tank,
Congratulations.

Are the Wetmorellas a true pair?

:thanks: everyone !!!
I am not sure if they are a pair or not, I could never find out much info on sexing them, though John & Cam (who have a spawning pair) told me they are protogynous hermaphrodites so I am assuming they will become a pair, if they are not already. Its difficult to observe them for an length of time as they are so secretive too. One is now much larger and darker coloured than the other ?? They are really cool fish though - shame I only see them one in a while

Lovely fish. I had one in my three footer a while back and it used to be out pretty much all the time - although I must say it had very peaceful tankmates and loads of hiding places, so obviously felt secure.

Chris, Thats pretty cool, funnily enough I have just twigged where they both hang out (right under the plating monti), so the last couple of days I have managed to see them quite a bit, certainly a fish for a quiet tank though !

:thanks: guys !!!
Very nice tank, looks great. Hope mine looks that good one day.
Are you you sure about ur 650ltrs system volume? I would say between 300-350ltrs.
My tank slightly bigger than yours and mine only hold approx 400ltrs.
Edit - just seen previous posts, already discussed that.
