I had no end of problems with my original MP40w, which eventually got louder and louder. Fortunately Robin at Coventry aquatics swapped it on the spot.
The new one is a very different animal. No knocking or rattling from the wetside and no high speed 'ticking' from the dryside. Can't beleive with how bad the last one was and how long I'd lived with it. The new one seems spot on.
The only issue is, that about once every hour the motor stops for about 10 seconds, so there is no flow at all. Ive got it all aligned correctly, setup the pump disconnect calibration as per the instructions. When it stops there is no change to the lights on the control box, it will stay in whatever mode its already in. Power is around 50% on the dial. Ive had it in lagoon mode and reef crest mode and its still doing the same thing. Haven't head it do it in constant mode either.
Its difficult to catch it do it as I need to be in the room, and dash to the tank whenever it happens. Each time it will start up again after the 10 seconds or so. I tried redoing the pump disconnect calibration and no change. Glass is 10mm thick with pin spacer at 3/8 and the gasket on the dry side.
Any ideas why its doing this as I'm not getting concerned its going to stop completely
