The main joists were cemented in for extra support and the entire structure was capped with one piece of 3/4" ply. The ply has been sealed with PVA and flexible sealant around the edges.
The old fireplace has been enclosed by a sheet of transparent perspex with two 225mm kitchen ducts fitted. One to remove moisture from the sump cabinet and the other will be fitted to an external portable air con unit. |
