The sump alcove has now been covered in moisture resistant and noise deadening foam and a harder material for the base (apparently five times as effective as lead weight for weight at stopping noise transfer).

The top has been cut to size and clad in Black Satin Vinyl (as will the hood). This will be removable for better access to the rear of the sump area and also the tank. The vinyl was a little problematic to cover without getting the dreaded bubbles, but turned out better than expected. I will possibly replace this at some stage if I see a suitable alternative worktop.

Also in the back of the sump area is the now wired in dual RCD socket.
