Thought i'd post a few new photos from my Wave nano tank.

There build and details are all here: http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/s...16#post2048216

The only hardware changes I have made since the build is to add a Hydo Koralia Nano pump. TBH, it hasn't made a huge difference and has a bad habit of stopping and not starting properly! The only other change I have made is to transfer my pipefish from my previous tank. They are fed copepods from I culture I have going. The tank is also topped up with weekly innoculations from reefworks.

    Enjoy

    Cheers guys

Water quality is not a problem at all. Weekly (sometimes bi weekly) water changes of about 10litres, phosphate removers changed at the same time and thats it. Only minor problem i've noticed since adding the nano pump, ive started to get patches of cyano. Not sure why but I guess the tank is still maturing

Re: the growth on the rics - No growth yet as i've only had the tank about 3 months now. Rics tend to grow slowly but they have all kept their colour nicely. I had one ric that arrived very bleached and thats coloured back up.

Gorgeous tank mate, that article was a good read too.

What kind of growth are you getting with the SPS?

I must admit Im rather keen on these small cubes.

    Hi Jeff,

Umm SPS growth? its too son but they're all doing ok. I haven't really noticed any growth except on the green montipora. Thats started to grow onto the rocks but its a very hard coral anyway. Polyp extension on all the SPS is unreal but thts probably because of the lack of flow.

The SPS frags are just what grew off the rocks when I removed all the SPS from my other tank.

I love how simple these cubes are to maintain and the lack of equipment makes them silent! barely even a hum. Simple enough for you to set one up at uni

I will have to revisit all the growth questions in a few months

    The cubo looks great Keith.

In the write up it mentions the use of zeolite is this still the case?
if so how much do you use, change and how often are the exchanges?

Hi Tim, I'm still using zeolites in the filter. I can't say how much exactly..but its roughtly a large handful in each section. I haven't changed any of the stones since starting up. I'm using the zeolites just as filter media to absorb ammonium and media for bacteria to colonise.

    Thanks Keith, much appreciated.
I've been using zeolites in the lps tank after its rebuild, same as yourself except a smaller amount exchanged weekly.
using them in a filter bag passively mixed with carbon and phosphate remover.
