just wondering if anybody else runs a high nutrient system ?

rather than running really low, then adding feeds back via additives

I have been raising mine recently and cut back on water changes slightly, trying to raise nitrates above 10 and po4 so i get a slight reading on the salifert test kit.
Tissue on my sps seems to have thickened , polyps are more on show and my clams are happier with a bit of nitrate in the water
sps colour is also very good atm
    kind regards Pete

    wow ,,tough crowd

all i see with ULNS is, lots of cost to bring nutrients down, then lots of cost to feed corals once ULNS is achieved,

why not just keep your nutrients and let your corals use that instead ?

Hi Nev, fancy seeing you on here.

    Tank looks ace mate.

Still struggling to keep any type of reef personally - May go down your route.

just trying to see if others run a successful reef with high nutrients

i have a good tank, no real outlay ie, salt, as no water changes, no additives to bring nutrients down zeo etc, additives to feed back up, i dont run rowa or carbon

so my running coast are literally electricity, and the odd fish or coral

Have you asked this question in the Zeovit forum?

I would be interested to find out what they say.

Moreover, are you getting good growth in your stony corals despite high (or very high?) phosphate readings?

Finally, have you considered starting a thread in UR, so that we can find out more about your set up? You may get noticed more if you go down that path.
