Seem to remember most things we put in either got eaten by something else or disapeared, never to be seen again until the tank was cleaned out. This included pipe fish, flat fish, anenomes, shrimp, blennies, hermits, bass and mullet.
It was amazing how many different species you could find just in rock pools.
Good luck with your adventure

Some years ago when my children were growing up I used to take them to Port Trecastle on Angelsy Wales a bay just before Rhosneigr and close to the road. There is a great safe beach with parking above it and wonderful rock pools on each side of the bay. At the mouth of the bay there is a kelp forest where scuba divers sometimes go. Very undiscovered and well worth a visit for anybody interested in rock pooling.

All manner of life could be found in the pools and the thing that amazed me most was the many species and colours of the algea in them. Marine life was also very abundent with all manner of fish such as pipefish, blennys gobies etc, etc, crabs and nems. I spent many an happy hour exploring those rock pools with my eldest son while the others played on the beach. Oh happy days

Porth Trecastell, or Cable Bay
A beautiful little bay popular with surfers and kayakers. Its English name, Cable Bay, reflects the fact that it is where telegraph cables which spanned the Irish Sea and Atlantic Ocean came ashore. A short walk away is the largest Neolithic tomb in Wales, Barclodiad Y Gawres, in SH3270, which is also well worth a visit. For more information on Porth Trecastell, see Link .

Yep Andy thats the one alright. If anybody gets the chance and wants a safe a swimming paddling sea and beach with great rock pools while in Wales esp Angelsy check it out. In the pic on your link the best rock pools are covered by the headland so looking out to sea they are on your right. However to the left and just around the corner on the pic are more fine rock pools.
