Will adding a Refugium in my sump housing cheato & adding some pods to get it started keep a mandarin happy long term. Reason for asking is i have minimal live rock & a couple of wrasse's & its taken its toll on pod life hence the mandarin is staring to suffer.

 I Agree with everyone great thread, I would like to post my experience buy reading this thread i noticed some cultured copepods only, with and without air pumps. I tryed the same with and without air so the difference, No air massive blooms..... now i dont know if its down to the weather warming up but none of my four cultures have air going into them i feed copepod feed every other day sometimes less than that and i have five very healthy cultures just sitting on the window cill. I started with a small starter culture of around 50 copepods at Christmas. Now have about 1000 per culture

ok i'm 3 weeks in tomorrow and i started with app 50 and was expecting a huge population now, they have grown but maybe only doubled if that, should i leave whats in there longer and do you think i'm just not feeding them enough?
twice a day i use firstbite live phytoplankton

Will be teeming with life mate.. I have left my tank fallow due to WS for 10 weeks and the amount of pods in it is unbeleivable! have tiny doves and nassarius everywhere and every cm is covered by an amphipod

well posted a few days ago not much growth, but how that has no changed!!! i have hundreds and hundreds now Mandy is going to be so happy. Problem is now i don't have a sieve as i wasn't sure it was going to work, just need to work out have to get them out

By the way will there be a small amount of pods breeding in the refugium once added or is it so big for them that they can't find each other?
