Got a quote for the glass for the ideal tank this evening, with that, and the fact I put a small chip in Pavlo's old tank, the decision has been made to go ahead with the 72" x 54" x 31"

The deciding factor was seeing Megalodons tank split, with a fault in the glass! Gutted for him

Pavlo's old tank will be perfect for a large planted Dartfrog tank, maybe for my current frogs

or maybe some strawberry darts, either way its exciting!!!

So, I will be confirming sizes tomorrow for cutting, but thats progress, not sure on delivery but will need at least a week for me to get around to making the stand. I have the box section so just need to cut and weld it, then give it a lick of paint. I will be getting the glass to put it together myself. I received a box of silicon last week but think I'm gonna need another so will order that up tonight so it will be in waiting

I will also be making the bracing at the same time which will comprise of angle and a strap in both directions across the tank dividing it into 4 quarters.

I have bought lots of 2x80w ballasts to make a T5 unit for the the other tank. I'll need some for the frogs but will keep some for the marines. I also have 20 x black anodised heatsinks for an LED setup. I don't think I will be using them all, but handy to have them if I do.

The unit will be made from anodised aluminium box 25mm. I have purchased powermodule reflectors, these are 25mm deep and intend to make the unit not much thicker than that, if I can!!! although the heatsinks are 40mm so will be thicker where they are. Will do several LED colours, all controlled separately, including some UV ones, to give the corals some pop!!!

Ordered up an MP60 from World at Fishes, and seeing there stock on Wednesday really want to get it up and running soon!!!

Almost forgot! I have purchased a cheap peristaltic automated pump from Fleabay ready for my DIY calcium reactor, based on the DASTACO. Won't need this for a while yet though!!!
