Davy's new tank build No3.

Well what can i say i have just taken delivery of my new nano tank 30x12x18 (wife will not let me go any bigger).

Off i trotted to my local DIY store and purchased some blackboard paint and a roller and tray. (Sorry about the mess in the background i was that excited to start a new build i could'nt be arsed to tidy up and the wife was going nuts).

This blackboard paint goes on really well but it will need a few coats me thinks. You will notice that on the right hand side or the left hand side if it was facing the correct way i have painted half the tank black, that side is going next to the fire place and there will be a boxed perspex section in the corner that hides my heater, skimmer pump and return flow from the external fluval 205 filter.

Another trip out in the car and the kids were not happy ,my little girl Jessica said "Daddy i am sick of fish shops" and my boy Nathan said "i'm stopping in the car dad".So off i went in to purchase weir comb, roundy flow plug thingys and 10kg coral sand.

This is tank build No 2 and i am going to have to work out how to remove the perspex weir in the right hand corner without disturbing the fish as i need it for my new tank build.

This is what the weir hides,it is not really a weir just a hidy hole for all the unsightly items in my tank.

I hope this thread will help anybody doing their 1st tank build.
