It just means it's time to change out the rowaphos. The last lot has been in for 4 weeks instead of the usual 2-3 weeks. I'll run it a week and re-test with the hanna, twice and won't believe either of the results.

Are Hanna checkers no good?
I use the DD Rowa high sens merck test, love the kit.

I really like the hanna checkers. Most of the bad rap comes from mis-use. They deliver consistent results against a sample ime which is what you want. Worst case is a little out (as with most kits) you can measure vs a ref solution and adjust reading.

I use em for Alk and phos and for both I also have salient and d-d respectively. Very similar results but hanna is easier to read and is quicker.

Ran, have you got a ref solution for phos? I too love my Hanna phos checker and always do two test and just average them

Pretty much spot on - I only did 2 tests but both were within 0.01 of ref (one up and one down). I find the hardest part is getting all of the reagent powder in and mixed. It is probably that causing the variance. TBH I can live with a very small margin. The difference in ease to read makes up it ten time over!
