Let there be....a hanging aquarium!

Aquarium Architecture Manchester have just been signed up to install a fully suspended aquarium with client Biddle Sawyer Silks. The opti-white aquarium is to be home to Australian only corals, sourced solely from reef farms and donor frags.

The current dims are 3000 L x 870 H x 700 W with all the equipment to be located above the aquarium...should be an interesting one!

Let us know what you think

Before anyone asks...we are going to hang this installation from the ceiling as there are two very nice chucky i-beams we are going to tap into

are the beams calculated to take the weight of this over a small area or have u come up with a method of spreading the weight load?

2 Tons of water + tank + equipment all hung from the ceiling, very very interesting!

I wonder if anyone will try and copy this at home? There's a challenge!

For sure its interesting, but pretty pointless imo, cant really see any advantage to having a suspended aquarium. Maybe I'm just too practical

Looks pretty good, but could we make the box at the bottom more interesting?

Struggling to understand how this will work, is the sump above the tank? Surely access will be a PITA

I think it will look pretty funky but at the same time I'm not sure why you'd want this.

I agree with the above, nice idea but imo completely pointless, i think it would look better if the pillar continued from floor to ceiling, also it would save ££££££

Definitely origional though

Nice idea, a tank I'd like to see, but not to own.
If it leaked, there's a lot of expensive stock downstairs.
Ruined my eyesight reading the name on the wall!
