tiny aiptasia's everywhere

Hi,

I dont have any livestock in my tank yet so don't have the lights on often. Today I switched the lights on to find literally hundreds of little aiptasia's all over my rock and the sand.

What should i do?

you could use aiptasia x or joes juice.
or you could get some peppermint shrimp or a aiptasia eating filefish

i have just nuked a load with lemon juice/vinegar worked a treat for me

bugger to have to deal with all them in a new setup.. i had only 1.. where did you get your rock ? i would be having a word..

Any idea what caused such a large number of to appear overnight? Could it be anything else that looks like a tiny aiptasia?

interesting paul.. what ratio of vinegar /lemon juice / did you inject them ?

I've had this rock for a while now, only had a couple of big ones that i burned down completely. God this is freaky. It looks like an aiptasia but very thin. i can see the tentacles

probably the way the shop had been rying to get rid and spread them. i tend to use a blow torch on mine and rinse of the remains as they can spread really quickly. this will kill the rock aswell so will take time to grow back i just love the smell lol

when burning them you have to give it some billy big balls and get the flame to the route of the aip for a while to really make sure its dead also make sure its spat all its water out
