yer im going to use that bigger bit of tubing i got off of kev, and mastic a small bead of silicon around the inside. To stop it from falling back down.

dont know if im going to buy that filter sock holder yet, as i want to see how i get on with this idear first. but if it dont work that well, i might dip my hand in my wallet and buy that super duper sock holder

havent had time to do it this weekend as iv been busy, hopefully do it during the week

that pictures of the self cleaning head, it seems very dirty and the neck still seems gunky? I thought they were meant to keep the neck really clean? I am thinking of getting one myself thats all

hi cardiff the self cleaning head does get dirty, as expected, but that was the muck that the skimmer pulled out after the first few days.

so just goes to show what this skimmer can do. the self cleaning head does not get as dirty as the pics i put up now that the skimmer has settled down. I was also skimming too dry at the time, hence all the muck build up on the blade.

the crap that this thing cleans off the inside of the skimmer is unbelivable, and probably didnt look like it was wiping properly in the pic because i didnt set the wiper blade up properly to edge of the cup, as i was just setting things up. So my fault really

Im glad i bought it at the end of the day, and think that it is definatly worth thinking about it if you want one, and if your lazy like me and can't be bothered to clean the inside of your skimmer yourself

The blade and lid still does get dirty over time, so dont expect to leave it for a year and never clean it. i going to try and clean mine once a month, but does not look like it needs a clean at the min tbh







Now setup properly skimming wet, and all the crap in the pic is actualy in the cup and the outside of the skimmer neck (bit hard to see from the pic)
