1 Tank of the Month
This month's TOTM was awarded to Jon H who keeps a stunning tank which, rather unusually, features SPS, LPS, and softies! How he does it is a mystery to me, but have a read and hopefully you may be able to learn some of his secrets

June's photography SOTM was won by Peculiar_Clown with this crisp image of a RBTA. Lovely shot and a fine example of a healthy anemone.

As most know by now, Acropora House, one of UltimateReef's longest standing sponsors has unfortunately shut down shop. Whilst the reasons are known, it is important to remember the quality of stock that Mark (17000ltrs) provided. We hope that Mark continues to frequently use UltimateReef and offers his invaluable knowledge to others.

We were also delighted to hear that the Instantsquid family received another addition - baby Leo, born on the 21st of June, and weighing in at a very healthy 9lbs 9oz. Congratulations Ian and family!

5 Meet the Team - Haydn   (Global Moderator)
Click to view Hi, as the newest member of the UR moderation team I have been bullied into doing my profile for the newsletter.

My name, with startling originality, is Haydn. I live in Leicester with my long suffering and wonderful wife, Lesley and two sons Matt and Adam. I am 59 years old and was lucky enough to retire 10 years ago from a large national company, where I was an IT project manager (I was getting too old to live in hotels 3 or 4 nights per week).

Click to view I spend my time now working in the voluntary sector, I am a school and college governor, scuba diving (home and abroad), fly fishing (I caught the second largest salmon on the River Moy in Ireland 3 years ago-24lbs) and looking after my koi.

I have been keeping tropical fish since I was 16 and my wife bought my first marine tank for my 21st birthday (I think she still regrets it sometimes!). Except for a 3 month period when I moved house I have always had a marine tank.
The details of my current tank are HERE

7 UR and Team changes
Just lately UltimateReef has gone through many changes. This last month saw the arrival of 3 new members to the team, Lucy, aquadorge, and Philfish. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank them publicly for accepting the roles as we welcome them with open arms to the New Member Help Team! They will undoubtedly help share the workload and have already made outstanding contributions to the site and to you guys, the members.

In conjunction with this forward step, the observant amongst you will have noticed a new forum on the board, 'NMHT Extra'. This forum allows you to post a thread in private, giving you the confidence to post your questions safe in the knowledge that you will be guaranteed a response, without the worry of thinking that it's a 'stupid question'. We believe this to be yet another addition to UltimateReef which moves us closer to being the best and provides you lucky members with help which is unrivalled by other boards.

With this new forum we are delighted to announce that there will also be a strictly confidential 'mentor service' provided by the NMHT. Simply post in NMHT Extra forum, this will allow you to get one-to-one advice from team and also allow the team members to become more familiar with you and your system. This uncluttered way of posting is the same as the pm system we used to use, only now the mentoring can be monitored by other team members. Without interruption your thread can be taken from initial system planning right the way through to you being ready to 'go it alone' and post to the main board, hopefully resulting in advice tailored to you and your setup's needs. Yet another unrivalled service from UltimateReef!

Also this month has been the addition of yet another new forum, the Northern Ireland local forum. Since the addition of this forum there has been an influx of members from the area and we are pleased to welcome them to the site, and hope that they continue to enjoy and contribute to UltimateReef.

There was an announcement this month reminding us of the details of the signature height rule. Most of you will be aware of this but some may not. The rules state that signatures must be no more than 170 pixels high. Please have a read through the rule HERE, and ensure that your signature is within the limits.
